Lovelace.

I can't wait to see Lindsey Lohan play Linda Lovelace in 'Inferno.' I know, I know. Lindsey Lohan is a mess and if the movie was any good in the first place, they wouldn't have cast her in the lead roll. But sometimes even Hollywood can take a chance and get it right. Courtney Love played Larry Flynt's wife and got a Golden Globe nomination. Madonna played Eva Peron and won a Golden Globe. Mickey Rourke won a Golden Globe and almost an Oscar for playing a washed up pro wrestler. And if it can happen to Mickey, it can happen to anyone.

But Lindsey has nothing to do with my Inferno excitement. If you didn't know, Deep Throat was Linda Lovelace's first feature length XXX Porn. Nothing about the movie was particularly new or original, but it was released right around the time that Nixon was trying to rid the world of 'smut', and it became the whipping boy for the movement. So once the government tried to tell people that they couldn't see it, of course, everyone went to go see it. And Linda became the poster child for women's sexual freedom.

Linda was a complicated person, and she went back and forth on feminism, porn, born again then porn again. Her life was a series of phases, all of which she followed someone that would lead her. She died tragically in a car crash in 2002.

Deep Throat still exists, but for the full story, watch the documentary Inside Deep Throat. You can watch the trailer here.
